Experience Timeless Luxury at The Upham Hotel

Cute little cottages!! Super clean and friendly and the little garden is so peaceful. Two blocks from state street. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but loved the pastries in the morning and they had wine happy hour as well as cookies and milk every night. Other guests were extremely nice too— a couple said this was their favorite hotel ever and come back every year which was warm and welcoming.

The Upham, where I've stayed on and off for almost thirty years, remains a wonderful, homey, gorgeous and humble property. What sets them apart is service: I had to stay for several non-consecutive nights for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and beyond the excellent service for those visits, they let me be a laptop hobo on the off days and let me change into my red carpet clothes for evening events. Further, when a filmmaker canceled on us at the last minute, they cheerfully reversed the charge. They didn't have to do that but extended themselves for me anyway. Truly a pleasure, and we recommend the property highly.

We truly enjoyed our time there; the rooms were excellent, providing a very cozy and charming atmosphere. We also found the gardens to be beautiful and relaxing, and the lobby was equally welcoming and comfortable.

Additionally, the location was perfect, as it was within walking distance to nearly everything we wanted to visit.

Charming Inn and accommodations. Stayed in one of the Garden Cottages. Comfortably appointed room with fireplace and private patio. Grounds lovely and inviting. Guest Services helpful and welcoming. On site parking provided. And downtown Santa Barbara with great restaurants, art museum, parks, shopping, all within walking distance.
